With a proud history stretching as far back as 400 years ago when the first Goldsmith registered in Birmingham - the story has been one of ups and downs.  From employing upto 60,000 people at one stage the Jewellery Quarter faces fresh challenges to keep ahead of the rest of the world in an ever changing world.
